When I Was Younger

When I was younger, I dreamed of fame.

To share and express in a way that only

fame would let me.

I dreamed of being loved by the crowed.

I had plans and initiative that rivaled

some of the greatest stars.

What if I took me out of time?

What if me saw me?

Could I handle me?

Or would the failure of my dream come

crashing around me?

I could look at myself and say,

Look at you, are you proud?

Is this who we are destined to become?

My voice would echo loud

As I ask, who would dare bring us down?

Society dear, crushes dreams.

And we are someone not truly meant to be

And could we really take the fall?

Maybe its not them who holds us back,

It’s us.

The world isn’t what you think

Times are hard, lives change in a blink

But I am still you

And our dreams will still come true

It doesn’t matter if it’s us or you

Cause sometime you don’t need to know who

You just need to know, can you win?

Or will you lose?
