Counting Seconds
2 more hours, till the final night
Oh darling, I’d hoped you’d see the fight
I tried and I tried, but forever my people go unnoticed.
I am no king, no queen
I do not rule
I am a pawn, but I’m just as important too.
1 more hour and a half.
The half is just as important as a whole, the cow equal to the calf
The ones who made me, then denied me.
“We did not raise you this way” then who did?
You cast me aside like i could never do to you
Because I love you.
One more hour,
A single flower.
My lover, my dear
Hold me close, I cannot bear to be alone
As darkness falls I whisper your name
I will require a rose, a single flower
Dark red like the future that awaits me.
This is no poem, but a note
One half hour, till I awake
From this nightmare I mistake for a life.
My friends, don’t cry
By the count of three, my pain with disappear.
Count with me, my friends
And remember
I will see you again
Three,
Three friends, destined to meet.
Three lives, forever entwined.
Three hearts, whose bonds strengthened in time.
Two,
Two people, bound by fate.
Two lovers, who forgot the one left to fend against shadows of hate
One,
One rose, placed on a rock, as cold as the hearts of those slain in battle.
I don’t want to die
