Child’s Eyes

One thousand drink held up to moonlight

Shattered glass in broken homes

I lie awake in the arms of morning

Looking through my sorry soul

A child’s eyes can catch the morning

The eyes of man beholds the storm

The glare of woman haunts the building

Others look in hor’r

Phantom faces in the darkness

Shed some light through open doors

A child’s eyes will see the morning

A child’s eyes will miss the storm

One thousand candles all around me

A shrine to light up the moor

I lie awake in the arms of madness

Shivers wreck me to the bone

A child’s eyes I see with gladly

A child’s face I can’t outgrow

Phantom shadows in the mirror

Children’s laughs guiding me home
